ARtSY golf ball StAtUES (sales suspended)

1) Please do honor this sale month’s buying rule.  That is, one pair-of-statues-purchase per member.  Thanks in advance for your cooperation.  Also, no buying requests made before the start of this month’s purchasing period, i.e. 12:01 a.m. EST on February first, will be honored.

2) My landline phone number is 443-595-8292 .   My email address for this project is divotredux@comcast.net.  Of course, members already have this info. about me (“Randolph Smith”) through our Members Directory.  I prefer to communicate by email, but if for some reason you must phone, please call between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. EST.  (You’ll likely need to leave a message.)

3) Once I let you know that you’re ‘first in line’ for your chosen pair of statues, you can either pay me by check – I’ll email you my home address – or we can do the transaction electronically through ZELLE.  (My email address for any ZELLE transfer differs from the “divotredux” one; I’ll inform you of the email address needed for ZELLEing me.)

4) As noted on previous pages, this month’s sale price has embedded in it the considerable expense involved in trying to see that your statues arrive unscathed.  UPS shipping costs will range from $30-$50+, depending on how far you live from Maryland.

The two heavy-duty boxes I’m buying add $15 more; the biodegradable packing peanuts (costly!) another $10-$15; the bubble wrap, $1-$5, depending on the statue’s design.  So yes, I may be taking a loss perhaps, too, in regard to the transport cost for your statues, but I’m willing to do so, in order that they’ll find ‘a good home’ with a collector.

5) How to unpack your statues successfully:

STEP 1: Cut packing tape on top (address side) of outer box, open flaps, and gripping inner box firmly, pull it out and set box onto surface of table or floor or other suitable space.

STEP 2:  Locate side of inner box labeled CUT HERE, and slice through the tape on those two sides of that box, plus at the top.

STEP 3:  Pull down the now created flap.  NOTE, when you do so, expect a minor avalanche of (biodegradable) packing peanuts.  (Sorry for the quantity of them.  However, if they’ve saved your two statues intact — despite potentially rough handling – that’s worth it, right?)

STEP 4:  Sweep (with your hand or a spoon) more peanuts out of box until you can see the wooden base of the first statue. Gripping base with both hands, you can lift statue carefully toward you, or sweep “flap” clear and slide statue out of box.  Repeat this step for the second statue.

STEP 5:  Snip any tape which is holding the bubble wrap around your statutes and gently take off their wrap.  Then, using your hands and/or tweezers, carefully remove any peanuts that are lurking within the confines of your statues.  Congratulations – you’re now free to pick up each statue by its base and move it to the display area you desire.  TIP: a spot with side-lighting close at hand really enhances the statue’s look.
